Kit Packham (sax/vocal) is joined by Phil Mead (piano) tonight in the heart of the Kent countryside. The venue has a very relaxing and welcoming atmosphere with excellent food, real ale and fine wine on offer. In spite of its apparent isolation it’s easy to find. Just take the A229 to the bottom of Linton Hill about 3 miles south of Maidstone (OS Grid ref TQ759477).

Kit Packham has played in a big band since the 1980s and currently holds the 2nd tenor sax “chair” in this big band which traditionally plays a pre-Christmas Sunday lunchtime gig at this venue every year. Expect classic big band favourites of the kind played by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Stan Kenton, Woody Herman, etc, plus a nod to the season and one or two surprises. Kit will probably be featured on a couple of vocal numbers. Come promptly if you want a seat as this is always a very popular session!
